Prop Firm Guide Last reviewed: May 2026 · Rules change often, verify before you buy
Copy trading and prop firms have an uneasy relationship. Some firms welcome it, some ban it outright, and most sit in a grey zone that depends on how you copy. This page separates the two things people confuse, then goes firm by firm.
Short answer: Most forex prop firms allow you to copy trades between your own accounts (one master feeding your own challenge or funded accounts). Almost all of them prohibit copying trades from a different trader or selling signals into funded accounts. The safe, allowed use of a trade copier at a prop firm is your own strategy across your own accounts, run in a way that does not look like an identical bot mirror.
The rest of this guide explains the distinction that decides everything, gives a firm-by-firm table with sources, shows how to confirm a rule in writing, and covers how to run a copier without tripping a firm’s risk system.
The distinction that decides everything
When a prop firm’s rulebook says “copy trading,” it almost always means one of two very different activities. Firms treat them very differently, so you have to know which one you are asking about.
1. Copying between your own accounts (usually allowed)
You place trades on one account (the master) and a copier replicates them onto your other accounts, all owned and traded by you. This is how a single trader manages several funded accounts, or mirrors a demo strategy onto a live challenge. Firms like FTMO and FundedNext explicitly permit copying within your own accounts, because you are still the only trader and you carry all the risk. This is the legitimate home of a trade copier.
2. Copying from another trader or a signal service (usually banned)
Here the source of the trades is someone else: a signal provider, a Telegram group, a “master” account that many funded traders subscribe to, or a public copy-trade marketplace. Firms ban this because it breaks the entire premise of a funded account: they are paying for your skill, not someone else’s. It also creates correlated risk across their whole book. When you see a firm “ban copy trading,” this is almost always what they mean.
Why this matters: the same trader can be fully compliant or instantly disqualified depending only on where the trades come from. “Is copy trading allowed?” is the wrong question. “Is copying between my own accounts allowed, and are there conditions?” is the right one.
Which prop firms allow copy trading? Firm-by-firm
The table below summarises the stated position of major forex prop firms as verified in our قاعدة بيانات قواعد شركات التمويل. “Verify per program” is the honest answer for many firms: they run several programs with different rules, and they update those rules frequently. Always confirm against the firm’s current rulebook (linked) before you rely on it.

*FTMO allows copying within your own account and strategy. Running the identical strategy across multiple FTMO accounts also touches their same-strategy and capacity rules, so confirm your specific setup. Source dates and the full 40-plus firm list, including drawdown, news and consistency rules, are in the قاعدة بيانات قواعد شركات التمويل.
Why most firms say “verify per program”
Prop firms are not being evasive by accident. Three things make a single blanket answer impossible:
- Multiple programs. One brand may run a 1-step, a 2-step, an instant-funding and a swing program, each with its own rulebook. Copy rules can differ between them.
- Frequent rule changes. This industry rewrites its rules several times a year. A rule verified in January can be different by June.
- Rules that interact. Even where copying is allowed, it still has to respect the daily drawdown, the news rule, the consistency rule and the maximum-lot rule. A compliant copy setup on one program can breach a different rule on another.
That is why the responsible answer for many firms is “allowed in principle, but confirm the exact program and get it in writing.”
How to confirm a firm’s copy-trading rule (in writing)
- Read the current rulebook, not a review. Open the firm’s own terms and FAQ (linked in the table). Search the page for “copy,” “copier,” “duplicate” and “mirror.” Third-party review sites go stale fast.
- Match it to your exact program. Note your program name and account type, then check the rule for that program specifically, not the brand in general.
- Ask support and keep the reply. Message support with your precise setup (“I run one MT4 master and copy to my own two funded accounts with the same firm”) and save the written answer. If a dispute ever arises, that reply is your evidence.
How to run a copier at a prop firm without tripping their systems
Even legitimate own-account copying can look suspicious to an automated risk engine if every account fires the exact same order, at the same millisecond, at the same size. Firms flag that pattern because it is also the signature of a shared signal service. The goal is to copy your own strategy while still looking like an individual trader on each account. Four things matter:
Run the copier locally, not in the cloud
A cloud copier routes your trades through a shared third-party server, which means a shared IP range across many funded traders and your account credentials sitting on someone else’s machine. Both are exactly what prop-firm fingerprinting looks for. A local trade copier for prop firms runs on your own Windows machine or VPS, so your accounts are not grouped with strangers. We break the measured latency and detection differences down in the cloud vs local benchmark.
Use imitation manual trading
HFT Forex Copier can place copied orders the way a human would, rather than as identical instant mirrors. This imitation manual trading reduces the “one bot, many accounts” pattern on legitimate own-account copying. It is a compliance-friendliness tool, not a way to make prohibited copying allowed. If a firm bans copying from another trader, no software changes that.
Keep each account inside its own rules
Copying does not exempt you from the daily drawdown, news, weekend or consistency rules. Use per-account lot scaling and filters so a copied trade sized for a 200k account does not blow the daily limit on a 25k account.
Vary what can safely be varied
Small differences in timing and, where appropriate, order source make a set of your own accounts read as individual trading rather than a single mirrored feed. HFT Forex Copier exposes these controls directly.
Where HFT Forex Copier fits. It is a locally installed copier built for exactly this use case: copying your own strategy across your own MT4, MT5, cTrader, FIX API, DXtrade and Match-Trader accounts, with imitation manual trading, hidden stop-loss and take-profit, per-account sizing and platform bridging. Compliance and risk
Trading funded accounts carries real financial and account risk. This guide is general information, not legal or financial advice, and it is not a promise that any setup will pass any firm’s checks. Prop-firm rules change without notice, and enforcement is at each firm’s discretion. Before you copy anything: confirm the rule for your exact program in writing, never copy trades that originate from a different trader, and treat every account as if it is judged on its own. When in doubt, ask the firm first.
Is copy trading allowed at FTMO?
Copying between your own FTMO accounts is permitted; copying from a different trader or a signal service is explicitly banned. Running one identical strategy across several FTMO accounts also interacts with their same-strategy and capacity rules, so confirm your specific setup against the current FTMO rules.
Does FundedNext allow copy trading?
FundedNext allows copying between your own accounts only and explicitly bans copying between different traders. Rules vary across its programs, so verify against your exact program before you rely on it.
Can I copy one MT4 master to several prop firm accounts?
Yes, if all the accounts are yours and each firm allows own-account copying. A local copier such as HFT Forex Copier can drive several MT4, MT5, cTrader or DXtrade accounts from one master, with per-account sizing so each stays inside its own drawdown limits.
Will a prop firm detect a trade copier?
Firms look for identical orders, identical timing, shared IP addresses and cloud-copier fingerprints across accounts. Legitimate own-account copying is allowed, but to avoid false flags run the copier locally and use imitation manual trading and per-account variation rather than identical instant mirrors.
Is it against the rules to use a cloud copier?
Not always, but a cloud copier puts your credentials on a shared server and groups your accounts with other users by IP, which is exactly what detection systems watch for. A local copier avoids both problems. See the cloud vs local benchmark.
Can I sell signals into funded accounts?
No. Selling or distributing signals that other people copy into their funded accounts is the banned form of copy trading at essentially every firm. If you run a signal service, subscribers should copy on their own non-funded accounts, or use their own slave copier on accounts they own and control.
