FTMO Trade Copier — Copy Your Strategy to FTMO (2026)

Prop Firm Guide   Using a trade copier with FTMO, within FTMO’s rules

FTMO is one of the oldest and most-watched proprietary trading firms, and it draws a hard line on copy trading: copying between your own accounts is allowed, copying from another trader or a signal service is banned. HFT Forex Copier is a locally installed copier built for the allowed side of that line, mirroring your own strategy across your own FTMO accounts.

Can you use a trade copier with FTMO? Yes, for your own accounts. FTMO permits copying trades within accounts you own and trade yourself, and explicitly prohibits copying trades from a different trader. Run your MT4, MT5 or cTrader strategy on your master and HFT Forex Copier replicates it onto your FTMO account locally, sized to FTMO’s limits, in a fraction of a second.

Independent software. HFT Forex Copier is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by FTMO. Rules summarised here reflect publicly available information as of 2026 and can change at any time. Always confirm the current rules with FTMO before you rely on them.

FTMO’s copy-trading rule in plain English

FTMO separates two things people lump together as “copy trading”:

  • Copying between your own accounts is allowed. You are still the only trader and you carry all the risk, so mirroring your own strategy from a master onto your FTMO Challenge, Verification or Funded account is permitted.
  • Copying from another trader is banned. Taking trades from a signal service, a Telegram group or someone else’s master account into your FTMO account breaks the premise of the evaluation and is prohibited.

This is the industry norm, covered in more depth in which prop firms allow copy trading. Everything below assumes you are copying only your own accounts.

The FTMO rules a copier has to respect

Copying does not exempt any account from FTMO’s core rules. These are the limits your copied trades still have to stay inside, as of 2026:

RuleFTMO (standard, 2026)Why it matters when copying
利润目标Challenge 10%, Verification 5%, Funded noneCopied trades count toward the target like any other
Maximum daily loss5% of balance, resets at server midnightA copied loss sized for a big master can breach a smaller account’s daily limit
Maximum total loss10% of balance, static (non-trailing)Per-account sizing keeps the mirror from blowing the overall limit
Minimum trading days4 trading daysCopying is fine as long as your own activity meets the minimum
新闻交易Allowed on standard accounts; restricted on someUse a news filter if your account type restricts it
复制交易Own accounts yes; other traders noThe line you must not cross
平台MT4, MT5, cTrader, DXtradeCopy from your master to whichever platform your FTMO account uses

Why FTMO traders use a copier

  • Run one strategy across your FTMO stages. Mirror a master onto your Challenge, then Verification, then Funded account so the same edge runs through every stage without re-entering trades by hand.
  • Bridge an MT4 or MT5 EA onto your FTMO platform. Keep your EA on its own master and copy plain trades to the FTMO account, even if the FTMO account runs a different platform such as cTrader or DXtrade.
  • Manage several of your own FTMO accounts. Where FTMO’s capacity and same-strategy rules allow it, drive multiple funded accounts from one master with per-account sizing.
  • Mirror between a personal live account and FTMO. Trade your own broker account and copy the same trades onto your FTMO account, or the reverse.

How to copy onto FTMO without breaching the rules

  1. Size every account to its own limits. Use per-account lot rules so a trade sized for a large master cannot trip the 5% daily or 10% total loss on a smaller FTMO account.
  2. Run the copier locally, not in the cloud. FTMO monitors account activity, and a cloud copier groups your account with other users by IP and puts your credentials on a shared server. A local copier avoids both. See the cloud vs local benchmark.
  3. Use imitation manual trading. Placing copied orders like a human, rather than as identical instant mirrors, keeps legitimate own-account copying from looking like a single automated feed. It does not make banned copying allowed.
  4. Respect news and same-strategy rules. Apply a news filter where your account type restricts it, and stay within FTMO’s capacity and same-strategy limits when running more than one account.
  5. Confirm your setup in writing. Ask FTMO support to confirm your exact configuration and keep the reply.

The mechanics of detection and compliance are covered in prop firm detection and compliance.

Copying to FTMO on any platform

FTMO offers MT4, MT5, cTrader and DXtrade, so your FTMO account might not be on the same platform as your strategy. HFT Forex Copier bridges them:

MT4 or MT5 → FTMO

Copy from your MT4 或者 MT5 master onto your FTMO account.

→ FTMO on cTrader

Send trades to an FTMO cTrader account via cTrader copying.

→ FTMO on DXtrade

Bridge onto an FTMO DXtrade account with the DXtrade copier.

Per-account sizing

Each FTMO account is scaled to its own 5% and 10% limits automatically.

Setting it up for FTMO

  1. Install locally. Put HFT Forex Copier on your Windows machine or VPS beside your terminals; instant download after purchase.
  2. Set your master and your FTMO account as slave. Choose which account leads and connect your FTMO account as a follower on its platform.
  3. Configure sizing, filters and mapping. Scale to FTMO’s limits, map symbols, add any news filter, then trade.

Risk and rules. Trading funded accounts carries real risk, and this guide is general information, not legal or financial advice or a guarantee of passing any check. FTMO’s rules change without notice and enforcement is at their discretion. Copy only your own accounts, confirm your program’s rules in writing, and never copy trades from another trader.

Is copy trading allowed at FTMO?

Copying between your own FTMO accounts is permitted; copying from another trader or a signal service is explicitly banned. Running one identical strategy across several FTMO accounts also interacts with FTMO’s same-strategy and capacity rules, so confirm your specific setup.

Can I run my MT4 EA on an FTMO account?

Yes, by running the EA on your own master and copying its trades to the FTMO account. The EA stays on the master; the FTMO account receives ordinary orders, even if it is on cTrader or DXtrade.

Will FTMO detect a trade copier?

FTMO monitors for identical orders, timing correlation and shared IPs. Legitimate own-account copying is allowed, but run it locally and use imitation manual trading and per-account sizing to avoid false flags. See detection and compliance.

Can I copy one master to my FTMO Challenge, Verification and Funded accounts?

Yes, if all the accounts are yours and you stay within FTMO’s same-strategy and capacity rules, with each account sized to its own 5% daily and 10% total limits.

What FTMO rules can copying accidentally break?

Mainly the 5% daily loss and 10% total loss on smaller accounts if sizing is wrong, plus news restrictions on some account types. Per-account sizing and a news filter prevent both.
